Your chance to get involved in a small way
JCI Edinburgh is currently completing a feasibility study into running a major conference in 2009 (EC2009). The JCI European Conference each year attracts over 1000 delegates to a different city in Europe and Edinburgh has been invited in submitting a bid for June 2009.
What does that mean?
In order to determine if this bid is right for us we need to concentrate on various areas including: Sponsorship and Support, Marketing, Logistics, Budgets, Administration, Special Event Planning, Country Liaision...the list of roles is endless.
How can I get involved?
You can get involved in various ways, whether you have a flair for organising parties, interior decorating, fantastic with food, know Edinburgh and its venues outside in, infact if you have any interest in any area or are just passionate about Scotland
So what are all these conferences about?
JCI has over 37,000 members in Europe and EC2009 will bring as many of them together for 4 days to exchange ideas, benefit from fantastic training, meet new friends from all over europe and get a chance to party as well. More information on this years' conference can be found here
What if I get involved, will I be expected to do loads?
The idea with these events is getting as many people together as we can to make it easier and spread the workload, like all the other areas of JCI, its voluntary, so that means you don't have to do anything, but the more you get involved, the more you will learn and develop.
I want to get involved...
Well if you do, send brian_turnbull (a) ejcc.org.uk an email, with any questions or to attend our meeting on Thursday 6th April, I look forward to seeing you there.
