Rockets to the Stars
Rockets to the Stars!
The Communities team have two new projects that they need your help with.
Being a member of JCI is all about giving something back to your local community, and both of these projects provide you with the opportunity to do just that.
Determined to Succeed- The Rockets...
We have been working with the Determined to Succeed programme for around six months, and one of our partner schools, Tynecastle High School, have asked for assistance from our members at an event they are holding on the 1st November- when they have their annual Enterprise Day. Kids from their feeder primaries spend either a morning or an afternoon with the S5 pupils designing and making a rocket, and they need help from our members to judge their efforts. OneCity Trust- The Stars...!
OneCity is a charity that has been set up by Edinburgh's Lord Provost with the aim of promoting social inclusion in Edinburgh- you can find out more at www.onecity.org.uk. On Friday 23rd November 2006 they will be holding their annual showcase event in the Hub on the Royal Mile- a star studded celebrity gala dinner and concert in conjunction with Valvona and Crolla. JCI Edinburgh have been fortunate enough to have been asked to assist with the organisation of both the event beforehand, and most importantly on the day. If you are free and able to help set up (bring your autograph books!) then six volunteers are required. If interested please email Alastair. |
