Well, the day arrived for the JCI Edinburgh summer BBQ, I pulled back the bedroom curtain's hoping to find brilliant sunshine and it was raining..... Typical Scottish BBQ weather! The panic set in thinking everyone would be receiving soggy burgers and bangers, but the sunshine dance worked (having seen Kenny dance in the past, I knew this must have been his work!), the rain disappeared and 22 turned up for the BBQ of the year!

The BBQ took place at the fantastic Edinburgh Sports Club and fun was had by all. I, having never been allowed to cook on a BBQ (my other half tells me it is 'a man's job'...), was the chef for the day. Everyone feasted on burgers, sausages, chicken and vegetable kebabs (thank you Suzanne for providing the vegetable kebabs!), quiche and salad (funnily enough, the salad was not very popular...). Fun and frolics followed with outdoor games of giant ten pin bowling and garden tennis. Caroline provided the giant ten pin bowling, which was practically the same size as us! Scott Torrance proved he is a natural with children as he spent the day entertaining Ken's daughter, who I have already earmarked to become a JCI Edinburgh member in years to come! It was also great to spend some time with some of our members from JCI Glasgow.

The day turned into night and we ended with a couple more beverages and the Chairman of the Edinburgh Sports Club, Andrew Forrest, coming down to snaffle the remaining burgers!  After a good day had by all, we set off home with full bellies. What a great way to spend a Saturday and roll on next year's summer BBQ!
