JCI are holding an area conference for Europe in June this year in the beautiful city of Tarragona.  Conferences are a great experience, combining fun and travel with training and self-development.

If you're interested in training, they have various trainers from all over the world giving free training sessions on different topics, plus they have interesting key note speakers, and there’s the opportunity to take part in the debating competition plus watch the public speaking competition to challenge your communications skills.

If you're interested in networking, there’s people to meet from across the world from all different types of business and professions, there’s also a trade fair to see different businesses who are targeting our members. 

If you just want to have some fun, then there’s plenty available, there’s a party every night and a Gala Dinner and Awards on the final night. Just check out the website for a full programme.  You’ll also find that you build some great friendships with other members from JCI Scotland, JCI UK and JCI Ireland which is great for future events across all of our National Organisations.

Most importantly, conferences are about picking and choosing what you want to get from them!  So you only do what you want to do.

Ryanair flies from Edinburgh to Barcelona and also Glasgow Prestwick to Reus (just outside Tarragona). 

If you haven’t been to a conference before, or you’re a new member, please think about coming along, it really is a great experience.  There will be some funding available from JCI Edinburgh’s training fund, which you can apply for to help pay some of the costs, just contact Lesley for details.  Plus if you need to share a room let Lesley know and she’ll try to help everyone get paired up for booking hotel rooms.
