3th - 5th July 2009, Edinburgh
The first week in July saw JCI Presenter and JCI Trainer come to Edinburgh for the first time. With trainers from Portugal, England and even as far as Libya; and participants from Germany, Switzerland, France, London and a strong contingent from JCI Scotland this was a truly international affair.
The Friday focused on presenting skills with ample opportunity for everyone to get up and practice in front of an audience. On the Saturday the course moved on to developing skills for training and teaching adults, culminating in each group developing a training programme to put everything we had learned into practice. All three groups produced very engaging and exciting training programmes that were presented to the group on Sunday.
Thanks to the excellent trainers the whole weekend took place in a very supportive environment conducive to learning and development. As the weekend progressed there was a marked improvement in everyone's abilities as their knowledge and confidence grew.
This weekend has provided a strong base of trainers in JCI Scotland with a lot of energy and enthusiasm who are very keen to develop an extensive training programme in Scotland and to develop the European links that were established over the weekend.
This weekend was a great example of how JCI can bring members together from all across the world to work together not only to improve themselves personally but also develop their chambers and communities. Keep your eyes peeled for more training opportunities within JCI Edinburgh and if you are interested in getting involved please don't hesitate to get in touch with Louise Swanson (

Once again thanks to everyone involved for making it a very memorable weekend and all the best to everyone in their training careers.
